CLARIFICATION TEXT FOR THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP ON THE PROTECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

We provide this information in order to enlighten you about the protection of personal data and to fulfill our obligation to inform you as data controller within the scope of article 10 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698

Protection of personal data is among the most important priorities of Istanbul Health and Technology University. We inform you that we process your personal data within the framework of the principles of compliance with the law and good faith, being accurate and up-to-date when necessary, processing for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes, being connected, limited and proportionate to the purposes of processing, and keeping it securely for the periods stipulated in the relevant legislation or necessary and legal for the purposes of processing.

What is Your Personal Data?

    • Identity Information: Name, surname, Turkish ID Number, signature
    • Contact Information: Home address, e-mail address, corporate e-mail address, cell phone number
    • Physical Space Security: Camera recording
  • For What Purpose is Your Personal Data Used?

    • Execution of internal functioning,
    • Planning, supervision and execution of information technology processes,
    • Keeping log records,
    • Execution and follow-up of paperwork,
    • Carrying out storage and archive activities,
    • Execution of customer relationship management processes,
    • Conducting social responsibility and civil society activities,
    • Conducting communication activities,
    • Ensuring physical space security.
  • What are the Legal Grounds for Processing and Methods of Collecting Your Personal Data?
    Your personal data are subject to the provisions of articles 5 and 6 of the law;

    • Explicit consent,
    • Explicitly stipulated in the law,
    • It is necessary to process personal data belonging to the parties to the contract, provided that it is directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract,
    • It is mandatory for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligation,
    • Data processing is mandatory for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right,
    • Data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject

For legal reasons, during the establishment of your business relationship with our university and during the continuation of the relationship in question, it may be collected from you verbally or in writing by telephone, e-mail, automatic or non-automatic methods.

With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Data?

Your personal data may be transferred to administrative and official authorities, independent audit companies, business partners, educational institutions, suppliers and domestic and foreign third parties from which services are received, limited and proportionate to the specified purposes.

What are Your Rights Under the Law on the Protection of Personal Data?

According to article 11 of the PDPL, you can apply to our university;

a) Learn whether personal data is being processed,

b) Request information if their personal data has been processed,

c) To learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used for their intended purpose,

ç) To know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,

d) To request correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing,

e) To request the deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in article 7 of the PDPL,

f) To request notification of the transactions made pursuant to subparagraphs (d) and (e) to third parties to whom personal data are transferred,

g) To object to the emergence of a result to the detriment of the person himself/herself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,

ğ) In case of damage due to unlawful processing of personal data, you have the right to demand compensation for the damage.

You can submit your requests within the scope of Article 11 of the law regulating the rights of the relevant person to our university in writing according to the "Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller" or to the e-mail address genelsekreterlik@istun.edu.tr using secure electronic signature, mobile signature or your e-mail address previously notified to our university and registered in our system.
